Looking over the reviews on www.dpreview.com I noticed that 300D / Rebel don't have a hole at the same spot as 10D, but it looks like there is a hole more near to the back. Maybe explained by 300D using it's own Battery Grip BG-E1 and not the BG-ED3 used for 10D/D60/D30.
