proj-imim: paths to ptviewer.jar and source.jpg files not working Caroling 2000-May-17 22:29:15
I can't get archive to work with ptviewer.jar. I have a
complex website and would like to have one copy of
ptviewer.jar, but call it from several parts of my site.
According to my tests, archive looks in the same directory
or any directory under that branch from the top. But it
won't look at the top from any branch.

If I have /movies/allAround/ptviewer.jar,
I can write in /movies/file1.html, archive=allAround/ptviewer.jar
But I can not write in /Trips/movies/file2.html, archive=../../movies/allAround/ptviewer.jar
Even if I move ptviewer.jar to the top,
I can not write in /Trips/movies/file2.html, archive=../../ptviewer.jar

Does this mean there is no relative addressing? I haven't
tried to hard code the URL because that is just about
unacceptable. I would have to have two versions of each
file. One to test on my desktop and one to upload to the
server.

Also, it looks like the same limitation exists for the
source image file. What I need is to have the page.html, the
ptviewer.jar and the image.jpg all be in different parts of
the site. How is this possible?

If I did the tests right, this means that I must use many
copies of the applet and many duplicates of graphics and a
nightmare to maintain. I'm not using anything like
Dreamweaver that might make it easier, I don't know.
