proj-imim:
Why roll is good

If you are rendering a vr presentation from a 3d building
model say. You want vr scenes and transition movies.
A regular flythrough movie would often look better with
banking. So to do a seamless jump from the movie to the
next panorama you would need to be able to set a roll value
to the initial view in the panorama - maybe you could script
a sort of autocorrect to a level view after. Vrml viewers often have
level buttons.
But what also would be good for PTViewer is a smoother way of
dealing with the stop at nadir and zenith - I think
it should yaw sideways at the nadir or zenith like some
others.
Helmut - on my PC, NT4:
PTAverage - no joy, none of my image programs will read the
Result image. What format is it? ....bmp. I tried bmp and jpg
source images, same and different folders
With the Adjust tool -
The dialog in the Adjust tool as to what program to open up the
final image (a file browse) works for Photoshop4 but not with
Photoshop5.5 - so I have to use the adjust tool in Photoshop 4
except for Optimizer functions which work OK in 5.5 - the dialog
"forgets" your settings when you ask it to use 5.5. This would be
a bit of a showstopper for many users
PTStitcher chugs away but produces an image of the right size
but with a screwy looking image with distorted repeats of a section
of the first(?) image across the frame
PTAverage works fine on my Mac and outputs picts - does PTAverage
work with 48bit TiFFs - I didnt try
