The Sigma 8mm gives you a 7000x3500 panorama, but best results can be
achieved with:
AI-AIs Nikkors 2.8/8mm
10.5 mm Nikkor.
I suggest you a Fotodiox adapter (the PRO one) in both cases, or the
Novoflex one.
Precision adapters are needed, cause focusing is critical and less than a
0,05mm precision in the mount is enough to create focusing problem (lenses
focusing BEYOND infinite, or non-planar focusing).
Using adapters means you have to meter in stop-down, with EOS you still
preserve ability of ttl metering, in A and M modes.
In use with Nikon G lenses you have to hack the mechanical apertures lever,
inside the bayonet, to stop it down to its best working aperture. You have
to stop the mechanical lever with a piece of plastic or similar. You will
end with a 10.5mm f8, for example, that stay closed at f8 till you remove
the lens and remove the plastic piece or change its thickness.
It is a damn good panoramic lens.
