PanoTools: My first Fullscreen Pano notaus1232000 2005-Sep-12 09:17:29
Hi everybody,

finally, I made my first fullscreen pano. Any suggestion is very
welcome!

http://www.stehlegmk.de/milchstrasse/

It was shot with a Canon 350D and the Agnos MrotatorC head, but with
4 shots, not 3 shots. (I purchased the head with the mrotatorT
rotation element (45° and 60° stops, normally the MrotatorC comes
with a 60° rotation element only - and 3 shots are too less, 6 are
too much...)

I used the Sigma 8mm with 400 ISO, Exposure 1/400 at f8. I shot with
AF on and noticed that the camera had some focusing trouble. Next
time I will switch AF off and will set the AF to infinite.

It was shot in Canon RAW mode, converted with Photoshop CS2 to 16 bit
tiffs and applied the vignetting preset that came with the Agnos
head.

Saved as 16bit tiff and stitched with PTGui and the latest
pano12.dll.

The final panorama has a size of 4000x2000 px, converted with
pano2qtvr to Quicktime. I used a movie size of 800x600px.

I'm not really satisfied with the grain, also not with the color. The
nadir is also not that perferct retouched. So a lot of things to do...

Christian
