Barry,
Flash is the most universally installed plugin. It is also one of the
smallest. If only it could handle panoramas....
I dont see java as that good an alternative. I have it disabled on my
browser. I dont like the time it takes to load and how it hangs around
after you are done with it, presumably hogging memory/cpu resources.
Now what about GLPanoview http://sinnfrei.at/glpanoview/ as an
alternative to quicktime? It is very small and plays qtvr with as only
limitation that it will not read compressed headers.
And then there is SPI-V The nicest viewer, which needs a shockwave
plugin, also a lot smaller than 32megs.
